By the time when the 10 years’ anniversary of establishment of Huameng Fund was held, Zhang Zhiguang had specially came to the site from Beijing to meet the couple Li Dongsheng and Weixue. Li Zi, who had started her own creative media company with her friends upon graduation from college, also sent her autograph album for Huemeng Fund, which was specially made by herself. Both of them participated in this event because they had ever been supported by Huameng Fund in their early study time. Couple Li Dongsheng and Weixue are the founders of Huameng Fund. There are more than one hundred students accepting this couple’s fund in their school time.
Li Dongsheng, both Chairman of the board and CEO of TCL Group, married with Wei Xue, Vice CEO of TCL Group and Executive Director of public fund of TCL, in 2006. Upon their marriage, they had began to plan their public fund project. This couple had established Huameng Fund in their own names since 2007 and it had been in existence for 10 years. In this decade, they had supported almost 1000 students in their study, investing more than 70 million Yuan in the Fund.
Contributing herself in public fund had been her dreams since she was young. Born in Beijing and affected by his grandparents, she had learned a lot of stories on public benefits and already formed a lot of her own ideas in this business.
In 1992, Wei Xue studied in Japan, majoring in enterprise management in Sohpia University, a private University established by God Father of the Roman Catholic Church and she always actively dedicated herself to some public benefits activities. She also had lots of opportunities to be involved in those activities herself and always made deep thinking of herself. In the process of contact with AIDS patients, she began to understand that showing basic respect and kindness to those who need help as they were just common people are what they need the most. And she deeply confirmed dedication to public benefits as her own dream.
In 1997, Wei Xue started her own enterprise and became an entrepreneur. In her spare time, she began to actively involved into some female rights maintenance activities. She had actively started some female development associations. Currently she is now a leader in Asian Women’s Association.
For Wei Xue, Mother Teresa has been her idol when it comes to philanthropy. As Mother Teresa said, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” In the past 10 years, this quotes of Teresa has been a philanthropy concept followed by Wei Xue.
