Over-thinking is Paralyzing While Meditation is the Healing Power

One of the most recurrent causes of false truth from gaining access to your mind is over thinking. The mind is a very powerful thing but when it is clouded by too much of these false truths, then the body suffers with it.


Problem with over-thinking

For example, when you over think or flood your thoughts with notions of sickness that is not there or of sickness that are only minor but thought of as worse, you attract these notions. When you think tired, you feel tired and then your body becomes tired. When you think that you are sicker than you really are, you do become sick. This is the Law of Attraction, if you entertain these thoughts into your mind they become reality in your body.


Meditation

The solution to the problem of negative truths can be found in itself. The Law also gives provisions so that when you replace or avoid thinking on these false truths, you can gain healing. The same way that when you feel tired, you become tired, you can also feel energized and be energized. This is reminiscent to Phineas' first clue to the power of the Law. When felt excited during his horse ride, he was able to ignore the feeling of pain. The solution then is to saturate your mind with states that directly address any health issue that you have or prefer to avoid.

For this application of the Law of Attraction, one of the best tools that is available for the mind is meditation and no other set of philosophies has made use of this practice than Buddhism. It is to be noted that the first two authors of the core principles of the New Thought Movement were also the first Buddhist converts in the West. This could be one of the reasons why the Movement, though different from Buddhism, have recognizable similarities between each other. Meditation is one of these similarities.


Why meditation works

Meditation works because not only can it clear the mind from the negative truths but also enrich the mind with the desired state you want. There are various methods and styles for meditations, from the most basic and popular such as sitting cross legged in a flat surface to the more advanced and prolonged meditation that spans days and accompanied by a fast. If you are a beginner, then a basic meditation can be a good first step for applying the Law.

Before you assume the meditative position, make sure to wear comfortable clothing. Remove belts, shoes or tight clothing that can impair breathing. While meditation can be done even while waking, sitting in your office or other activities, most beginners benefit from choosing a quiet place, free from noise or distractions. Give yourself around 30 minutes and make sure that you do not have anything planned for the rest of the day to avoid nagging thoughts.

When you are ready, assume a sitting position, with both of your legs crossed. Put your hands on your thighs and with palms face up. Keep your back straight to allow for maximum expansion of your lungs. Breathing is very important to achieve the meditative state. Inhale through your mouth and exhale through your pursed lips. This slows your breathing and makes it slow, allowing your heart rate to decrease and achieve a calmer state.

Let your mind wander, when it has explored its horizons, it will return in full focus towards your consciousness. Pay close attention to your breathing, use the rhythm of the rise and fall of chest or the coming in and out of the air in your body. When you have become attuned to the rhythm, begin to visualize how the air travels from your nose to your air-ways, to your lungs and then transported to the rest of the body through your blood.

Now as you visualize, begin to think of how each organ and cell in your body are infused with enemies needed for health. Allow it to affect you and believe in the healing powers that are within you. You can use this process also for specific illnesses. Visualize the problem area in your mind; use your will to create healing on the area. Remember as you are doing this exercise it’s important to note that you need to accompany it with positive thoughts of trust and belief that the organ or body part in question is freeing itself from the sickness. When you think of these thoughts, you are not only healing within your body but also you are attracting health and wellbeing around you.
