People who always volunteer tend to gain a lot more than they're expected to give. They often learn to accept different situations and to adapt to them. When you see the work of Doctors without Borders or the Red Cross, there's something amazing about seeing people working to make the lives of people, in far off countries a lot better. Actually, there's nothing like volunteerism to help to build self-esteem and often self-esteem helps people to drop the idea of jealousy.

The organization to which you volunteer should be places that actually have a need such as a local shelter for the homeless or a soup kitchen. You could also volunteer to work on community projects, helping to clean up areas of your town where new parks are being created for the benefit of dwellers that would otherwise have no open spaces.

Reasons to do volunteer work

The reason you do volunteer work is because it can help you to become a better person. Doing volunteer work will help build up your confidence and boost your sense of purpose. However, if you need to do this kind of work for your own benefit, you're likely to be disappointed. You should dwell on things that are very negative instead of those very positive indeed.

Feeling good about yourself is beneficial for getting rid of jealousy in your life. You won't feel bad about yourself because of any reasons from outside. For example, you won't feel bad because you have a car but your neighbor don't. Volunteerism can make people to feel good about themselves because it can give them something of much more value to fill their minds.

Volunteerism helps you in a relationship

Similarly, if you were in a relationship with someone who has self-esteem issues, you can try to guide them to volunteerism because it will help to strengthen their character. This means that they won't be spending so much time doubting their own value. Thus, this would be of great help for them to stop induldging in so much jealousy.

If you're growing towards independence and trying to find out who you are as a character, volunteerism puts things into perspective and helps you to see life in a much more balanced way. You won't have time in mind for all the negativity that jealousy brings. When you are doing volunteer works, you will be building your character based on your activities and that's a whole more useful than spending time obsessing about whether you're good enough or not.

Even grown-ups may feel that they're not good enough. If you can do soemthing as worthy or even more significant than volunteering, you find a new direction in your life that saves you from getting yourself instantly involved involved in another unsatisfactory relationship.

Volunteerism helps because it gives you an escape route. It also means that you will be doing something positive rather than leeching energy from all of your friends. Only jealous people do in this way. Volunteerism helps to rebuild you rather than aiding in your own self-destruction.
