Asian Female Users Are the Main Target of E-commerce Enterprises on Single’s Day

Retailing industry and e-commerce enterprises on various platforms are facing more severe challenges and have to make strategic adjustments respectively in time. The next big opportunity they compete with each other for profits of this year is Single’s Day, which is going to come next month.


Upon completion of the press conference of double single’s day in China, giant e-commerce enterprises such as Jingdong and Tianmao are planning carefully for winning female smart phone users in Asian countries.


According to statistics which has been published, the number of female users who consumed on Jingdong firstly during 6.18 period, a giant e-commerce enterprise in China has doubled that of the previous year. In addition to increase of female consumers online, demand of females even increases exponentially. Frequent and associated consumption on clothing, personal skin care products and beauty makeups by female smart phone users have far surpassed males. A group of datas released by Jingdong Group on Oct. 9th has reveals that female users of online shopping has increased by more than 200% within 5 years.


Jingdong’s financial report of the 2nd quarter of year 2017 reveals that annual active users on Jingdong has accumulated to 258.3 million, increasing by 37% year by year. What should be noted is that targeting on female users and users on medium and senior terminals is a feature of Jingdong. In May 2012, registered female users have surpassed male users for the first time.


Tianmao, orginating from Taobao previously, has now become a big competitor of Jingdong. Comparatively speaking, logistics service and after-sale service on Tianmao still lacks behind that of Jingdong, which has input a lot on Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and on products in fashion market.


Since 2015, Jingdong has built business partnerships with various brands to conquer fashion market overseas in New York, Milan, Paris and London. It also strongly new brands designed by young designers. Moreover, Jingdong has also introduced a crowd funding model based on its financial platform, to help designers to connect with various industrial steps such as financing, producing, marketing, selling, law and auditing.

As relevant datas shows, about 40% of newly added users on Jingdong are attracted by female products such as clothing on Jingdong platform.
