According to CNN, a man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a visiting Chinese graduate student last seen June 9 on the Univesity of Illinois campus. It is reported on June 30 that FBI investigators think that the student Yingying Zhang, 26, is probably dead. Zhang represents a generation of the young people born in late 1980s and early 1990s in China. She’s very brave in fulfilling her life and dream.
Sometimes life is a really hard and lonely journey.
With the more and deeper mutual exchange and communication between China and the western countries, students and scholars attending universities abroad are becoming more and more. Zhang’s disappearance triggered widespread concern in China. Actually, Zhang represents each excellent talent studying abroad in a hard time while so many people are waiting and expecting them back to China, even their hometown or family. Coming from a very common family and graduating from Zhongshan University for bachelor degree and Peking University for master degree, and then entered in University of Illinois, Zhang really represented most female students or scholars at their best young life time studying abroad. To pursue their dream of fulfill their life, they have to struggle for a very hard study life to apply for the ideal university they really want to get to.Moreover, they’ve to learn to adapt themselves to a totally strange environment. For students or scholars who have comparatively better economical conditions and living in big cities such as Shanghai for quite a long time, it would be much easier for them to adapt to. However, for those who grew up in relatively poor regions in their early school years like Zhang, the adapting process would be much more difficult. Sometimes life could be a really hard and lonely journey.
Life security is the utmost important.
Her story really has aroused a great concern in most Chinese people who cares about education and love. For most families in China, children are expectations and hope of their their parents. Young talents are future of the whole country. Life could be so fragile that you don’t even know which will come first, tomorrow or accident. With deepening influence of western culture to traditional factors, young generation in China need strong awareness in life security and more education on love of our personal life.

To be honest, near each member studying abroad could be a potential Yingying Zhang. As an editing worker who ever had similar study abroad experience to Zhang and already came back to my parents, I personally really feel sorry , pity and regret for Zhang. I thought she would wanna love and peace more, like most kind, beloved and even talented chinese girls.
