Do you remember the time in your relationship when you used to surprise each other with gifts and you surprised each other often? If you want to rekindle the spark in your relationship, spice up your relationship by giving surprise gifts or taking your partner on a surprise trip. Surprises have a certain power that spice up a boring and predictable relationship.

Sometimes a surprise doesn't have to be big or extravagant. Something as simple as your partner coming home to a clean house or their favorite meal is a great way to start surprising your spouse or partner. You could make them their favorite meal or take them to their favorite restaurant. Whatever you decide to do, think of how your significant other will appreciate it.

Find a weekend that they are free from other obligations and go away on a surprise mini vacation. You could tell your spouse or partner the destination right before you leave or you could keep it a secret and get in the car for what seems like a random errand and just start driving to the destination. Think of how excited they will be to go somewhere and how happy they will be to know how much you planned this for them.

Think back to holidays that you spent with your spouse or partner. Do you remember how nice it felt to get gifts from your partner and how great it felt to give them a gift in return? Surprise gifts are just as nice because not only are you getting the satisfaction of making them happy but you have the added bonus of your partner or spouse completely not expecting it and being that much more appreciative because of that. The gift doesn't have to be expensive, something as simple as flowers or a thoughtful card can be a nice enough gesture. If you want to really wow, your partner or spouse give them something that they have been eyeing for a long time or something that you know they really want but would never buy themselves. They will fall in love with you all over again for being so thoughtful, kind, and for listening to what interests them.

A great way to surprise your partner or spouse is to spend quality time with them doing something they really enjoy. Are they a tennis player? Instead of going to the local court, you could take your partner somewhere special to play, or you could watch a tournament when it’s held nearby. Do they love a certain TV show, movie, or another fandom? You could have a marathon party complete with food and drink or you could even surprise your partner by taking them to a convention or other event. Take them on a surprise hike if they like the great outdoors. Even better, you could spend your quality time together helping a great cause. Is your partner or spouse an animal lover? If so you could spend some time at your local shelter without letting them know ahead of time. Go to a fundraiser, if it’s something that you can do while surprising your spouse or partner at the same time, it's a great idea.

To rekindle the spark in your relationship, you have to act like you are in a new relationship again. You have to pay attention to your spouse or partner. You have to make time for your partner and open up your communication lines. You have to do those little things that you used to do when the relationship was still new. Relationships take work and need constant maintenance. You and your partner have to be willing to take the time to fix things and remernber why you fell in love in the first place. When you do the things you used to do when you were still developing your feelings and affection for your partner, you will slowly fall in love with him/her once again.
