Have you ever thought about something about the future? Just as you check the whether in the next week or in the next half a month. You’ve already made a plan as per the weather condition but you finally it may turned out to not be as it had been predicted. Then you’ll have doubt on the weather or even something else. Is future predictable? Or is the future a giant question mark?

Believe it or not, the future is a giant question mark. It actually is a big unknown. Think of it as a giant question mark. It has a scary, black hole kind of feeling to it.

We humans seldom enjoy the unknown. We like to have answers. This need for answers leads to our obsession with predicting the future. After all, if we can predict the future, then we will have some control over our lives.

Since the future is a blank slate, we want to fill in. To do this we take our memory of our experiences, and the conclusions we have drawn from those experiences, mix them with our present circumstances and there you have it - a recipe for forecasting the future!

So instead of past, present, future, our timeline looks more like: past, present, past. In other words, we put our past in our future and then live into that. Therefore, we’d better learn to cherish the current moment the utmost.
