In terms of attraction men are very simple, a girl who is considered by men beautiful in the US will most likely also be considered in China or any other country in th world. We select women mostly based on their physical beauty alone and only then we value their personality. We prefer women who have a more juvenile face, long and healthy hair, a wider waist to hips ratio.
A lot of men don't give importance to a woman's personality if their only interest is to have sex with her. We normally are sexually less selective and relationship oriented compared to women.
On the contrary, women prefer to have sex with who they feel emotionally connected. A man who gives them a sense of safety and stability. This makes sense when you think that women always run of getting pregnant and being nearly incapacitated several months.
In some cases, they may end up needing their child alone for a good part of their life. If the guy simply doesn’t care and runs away to some deserted island or something.
Another aspect is women are very limited on their attraction levels. If they were lucky enough and their parents were good looking then probably they will be too. Otherwise, not much they can do about it.
Sure eating healthier, staying fit, dressing sexier, makeup and whatnot can still make a huge difference. However they can't do much about their facial features.
It is even kind of sad for me to admit this last part. I often meet women in the gym or others places, who have great bodies and fun personalities. I really like them. Although, their face is just not there and therefore, I don’t feel attracted to them.
However, nature has made sure to balance things off. The fact is beauty is a more common trait seen on women than on men. This means beautiful women are far more vulgar than most men usually assume. Probably not in a small city with a few thousand inhabitants.
Although, normally in big cities you will see beautiful women nearly everywhere. I live in Lisbon Portugal and during all year the streets are pack with stunning women.
Another good example are Swedish women, they are considered the most beautiful women in the world. On the contrary their men are frequently below or average looking with a few exceptions of course.
